Permanent traffic order

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council propose to make the following Traffic Regulation Order in accordance with the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

(Street parking places) Order 2018

The effect of the Order will be to: 

(i)    Introduce a 30 limited waiting restriction, return prohibited within 30 minutes, between 8am and 6pm Monday to Saturday on Union Street (north side) - from a point 39 metres west of the west side of Bath Street for a distance of 12 metres in a westerly direction.

(ii)    Extend the days and hours of operation of existing designated parking places so that they operate between 8am and 9pm Monday to Sunday the following lengths of the road. During these times motor vehicles displaying valid residents’ parking permits may be left in the designated parking places for an unlimited period of time, and any motor vehicle may be left for a period not exceeding 10 minutes with no return within one hour.
  • Bath Street (west side) - (a) from a point 9 metres south of its junction with Foregate Street to a point 20 metres south of that junction; and (b) from a point 32 metres south of its junction with Foregate Street to a point 9 metres north of its junction with Forest Street.
  • Beaconsfield Street (west side of westerly leg) - from a point 2 metres south of its junction with Boughton for a distance of 20 metres in a southerly direction.
  • Beaconsfield Street (north side) - from a point 10 metres west of the centre-line of the westerly leg to a point 29 metres west of the centre-line of the westerly leg.
  • Beaconsfield Street (south side) – from a point from a point 24 metres west of the centre-line of the westerly leg to a point 5 metres west of the easterly end.
  • Grosvenor Park Road (east side) - from a point 43 metres south of its junction with Foregate Street for a distance of 30 metres in a southerly direction.
  • Union Street (north side) -from a point 17 metres east of the east side of Love Street  to a point 46 metres east of the east side of Love Street.
The Order will also consolidate existing restrictions.

Full details are contained in the draft Order, which, together with a plan showing the location and effect of the Order, may be examined at the Council Offices, Ground Floor Reception, The Forum, Chester between the hours of 9am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

All objections and other representations relating to the Orders must be made in writing to the undersigned by 23 November 2018 and objections must specify the grounds on which they are made. Any representations made should specify the title of the Order and may become available for public inspection.
