Permanent traffic order

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council propose to make the following Traffic Regulation Order in accordance with the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

(Chester City Centre, Chester) (20mph speed limit) Order 2019

The effect of the Order will be to introduce a 20 mph speed limit on the following lengths of road:

Albion Place, Albion Street, Back Queen Street, Bath Street, Bedward Row, Black Friars, Bold Place, Bold Square, Bridge Street, Brennus Place, Brook Street from its junction with Hoole Way Roundabout to its junction with Gorse Stacks, Brookdale Place, Bunce Street, Canal Side (i) from its junction with Seller Street to its westerly end; and (ii) from its junction with The Square to a point approximately 67 metres west of its junction with Russell Street, Canal Street, Canning Street, Castle Drive, Castle Street, City Walls Road, Commonhall Street, Commonhall Terrace, Crook Street, Cuppin Street, Dee Lane, Delamere Street, Duke Street, Eastgate Street, Foregate Street from The Eastgate to The Bars Gyratory, Forest Street, Frodsham Street, Frodsham Street Service Road,  George Street, Goldsmith House Service Road, Gorse Stacks, Goss Street, Grey Friars, Grosvenor Park Terrace, Grosvenor Place, Grosvenor Street, Hamilton Place, Hunter Street, Hunters Walk, Kaleyards, King Street, Leen Lane, Little St John Street, Love Street, Lower Bridge Street, Newgate Street, Nicholas Court, Nicholas Street Mews, Northgate Street, Northgate Street Rear Road between Hamilton Place and Watergate Street, Nuns Road, Old Hall Place, Oulton Place, Park Street, Pemberton Road, Pepper Street, Pierpoint Court, Princess Street, Priory Place, Queens Place, Queen Street, Rear of 2-14 Stanley Place, St Anne Street from its junction with Victoria Road to its junction with St Oswalds Way, St John Street, St Marys Hill, St Olave Street, St Oswalds Way to Oulton Place Slip Road, St Thomas’ Pathway, St Werburgh Street, Seller Street, Shipgate Street, Souters Lane, Stanley Place, Stanley Place Mews, Stanley Street, Steele Street, The Groves (i) from its junction with Grosvenor Park Terrace to a point 25 metres west of the west side of the Suspension Bridge; and (ii) from its junction with Souters Lane to a point 123 metres north east of its junction with Lower Bridge Street and the Old Dee Bridge, The Headlands from its junction with Dee Lane to a point 32 metres north east of its junction with Grosvenor Park Road, The Square, The Yonne, Trinity Street, Union Street, Union Terrace, Union Walk, Upper Northgate Street, Vicars Lane, Victoria Place, Victoria Road from its junction with George Street to its junction with St Oswalds Way, Volunteer Street, Water Tower Street, Watergate Street between its junctions with Bridge Street and St Martins Way/Nicholas Street, Watergate Street Back Road, Weaver Street, White Friars and York Street.

Full details of the proposals are in the draft Order which, together with a plan showing the extent of the proposal, may be examined at the Council Offices, Ground Floor Reception, The Forum, Chester.

If you wish to object to the proposed Order, or to any provisions contained in it, you may do so in writing specifying the grounds on which it is made, to the undersigned by Friday 8 February 2019. Any representations made should specify the title of the Order and may become available for public inspection.
