Work to begin on Vicar's Cross Road in Chester at the weekend
13 February 2019Work will begin at the junction of Vicar’s Cross Road and Shed Lane on Sunday 17 February to repair a collapsed section of pavement.A lighting column was removed from the location last year after a water leak washed away ground material under it. The area has been enclosed in safety barriers since. Three-way traffic lights will be installed to manage the working area. During the repairs the ground underneath the site will need to be restrained while the pavement section is rebuilt. The Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Councillor Karen Shore said: “These repairs are essential to stabilise the pavement so a street light can be replaced. The three-way traffic lights will reduce traffic flow at this junction and delays are expected. We would like to thank motorists for their support and patience during these works. “The work should take around two weeks to complete but our teams will do everything they can to finish ahead of schedule.”
