Temporary traffic regulation
Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council, in the interest of the safety of the public, propose to make an Order in accordance with the provisions of Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit vehicular traffic during the 2017 calendar of Race Meetings at Chester Racecourse on Wednesday 10 May, Thursday 11 May, Friday 12 May, Saturday 27 May, Saturday 10 June, Friday 30 June, Saturday 1 July, Saturday 15 July, Saturday 29 July, Sunday 6 August, Saturday 26 August, Saturday 2 September, Friday 15 September, Saturday 16 September and Saturday 30 September on the following roads:-
The closure of the above roads will be in operation between 4.30pm hours and 10.30pm hours on Friday 30 June. On all of the other dates listed the closure will be in operation between 12.30pm hours and 7.30pm.
- Nuns Road – complete length
- City Walls Road – between Stanley Place and Lower Watergate Street to southbound traffic
- Lower Watergate Street – between St Martins Way and City Walls Road.
- Bridge Street – between a point 6 metres north of its junction with Feathers Lane and Watergate Street
- Watergate Street – between Bridge Street and St Martins Way.
The closure of the above roads will be in operation between 8.45pm and 10.30pm hours on Friday 30 June. On all other dates listed the closure will be in operation between 4.30pm and 7pm.
- Nicholas Street – between Grosvenor Road and Watergate Street
- St Martins Way – between Watergate Street and Princess Street to southbound traffic
Access to and from Sealand Road whilst the closures are in operation will be via Parkgate Road.
Pedestrian access to premises situated on or adjacent to the roads will be maintained at all times.
