Permanent traffic order

Notice is hereby given that Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council propose to make the following Traffic Regulation Order in accordance with the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

(Newtown area, Chester) (Street parking places) Order 2018

The effect of the Order will be to introduce designated parking places operating 8am to 9pm for vehicles displaying a valid residents’’ parking permits (Zone M) on the following lengths of road .The proposed parking places will enable motor vehicles displaying valid resident parking permits (Zone M) to be left for an unlimited period of time.
  • Trafford Street (east side) – from a point 49 metres north-west of its junction with St Anne Street to a point 14 metres south of its northerly end. 
  • Trafford Street (north side) – from a point 14 metres west of its junction with Trafford Street for a distance of 67 metres in a westerly direction. 
  • Gloucester Street (north-east side) – from a point 11 metres south-east of the centre line of Somerset Street for a distance of 20 metres in a south-easterly direction.
  • Gloucester Street (north-east side) – from a point 9 metres north-west of the centre line of Somerset Street for a distance of 79 metres in a north-westerly direction.
  • Gloucester Street (south-west side) – from a point 9 metres north-west of a point opposite the centre line of Somerset Street for a distance of 79 metres in a north-westerly direction.
  • Somerset Street (north-west side) – from a point 6 metres north-east of its junction with Gloucester Street to a point 6 metres south-west of its junction with Cornwall Street. 
  • Cornwall Street (south-west side) – from a point 10 metres north-west of its junction with St Anne Street to a point 11 metres south-east of the centre line of Somerset Street. 
  • Cornwall Street (south-west side) – from a point 9 metres north-west of the centre line of Somerset Street for a distance of 80 metres in a north-westerly direction.
  • Cornwall Street (north-east side) – from a point opposite the north-west side of Somerset Street for a distance of 85 metres in a north-westerly direction.
  • Church Street (north-west side) – from a point 6 metres north east of its junction with Cornwall Street to a point 6 metres south-west of its junction with Walter Street. 
  • Walter Street (south-west side) – from a point 8 metres north-west of its junction with St Anne Street to a point 12 metres south-east of the centre line of Church Street. 
  • Walter Street (south-west side) – from a point 9 metres north-west of the centre line of Church Street for a distance of 100 metres in a north-westerly direction.
  • Walter Street (north-east side) – from a point 9 metres north-west of a point opposite the centre line of Church Street for a distance of 99 metres in a north-westerly direction.
  • Walter Street (north-east side) – from a point 18 metres north-west of its junction with St Anne Street for a distance of 50 metres in a north-westerly direction.
  • Talbot Street (south-west side) – from a point 18 metres north-west of its junction with St Anne Street for a distance of 51 metres in a north-westerly direction. 
  • Talbot Street (south-west side) – from a point 9 metres north west opposite the centre line of Church Street for a distance of 86 metres in a north -westerly direction. 
  • Talbot Street (north-east side) – from a point 8 metres north west of its junction with St Anne Street for a distance of 71 metres in a north-westerly direction. 
  • Talbot Street (north-east side) – from a point 9 metres north west of the centre line of Church Street for a distance of 84 metres in a north-westerly direction. 
  • Church Street (south-east side) – from a point 2.5 metres north east of its junction with Talbot Street to a point 4.5 metres south-west of its junction with Black Diamond Street. 
  • Black Diamond Street (south-west side) – from a point 4.5 metres north-west of its junction with St Anne Street to a point 10 metres south-east of the centre line of Church Street. 
  • Black Diamond Street (south-west side) – from a point 9 metres north-west of the centre line of Church Street for a distance of 56 metres in a north-westerly direction.
  • Black Diamond Street (north-east side) – from a point opposite the north-west side of Church Street for a distance of 61 metres in a north-westerly direction.
  • St Anne Street (north side) – from a point 23 metres west of the west side of Henry Place for a distance of 40 metres in an easterly direction. 
Full details are contained in the Order, which, together with a plan showing the location and effect of the Order, may be examined at the Council Offices Ground Floor Reception, The Forum, Chester, between the hours of 9am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

All objections and other representations relating to the Order must be made in writing to the undersigned by 30 March 2018 and objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
