12 August 2019Chester artist Mark Wigan is opening his Art Kiosk in Chester Indoor Market on Saturday 17 August.Mark has been at the forefront of Street Culture since the early 1980s refusing to play by the rules of the art market. The Art Kiosk is an extension of his art, making it accessible to everyone. Mark says his art is: “independent Do-It-Yourself, I celebrate the quirky, the poetic and the rebellious.” Mark exhibits internationally and his paintings and drawings are held in public and private collections worldwide. Immerse yourself in a unique urban art space. There will be a selection of original artwork, affordable limited edition prints including digital, giclee and hand pulled screenprints, artist made multiples, zines, branded T shirts, novelty gift items featuring Marks’s imagery including art toys such as his wooden hand painted Wigandollz and clothing from his streetwear collaborations, only available to purchase in Chester Market. Councillor Louise Gittins, Leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council and Cabinet Member for Wellbeing said: “I’d like to welcome Mark to the market, he’s already brought his area alive with eye catching artwork. I’m looking forward to seeing his full range when the Art Kiosk opens this week.” The Art Kiosk, studio/gallery will also features a bespoke customising service and live painting demonstrations. Mark will be signing prints and painting live at the Art Kiosk all day on Saturday 17 August between 10am to 4.30pm.
