West Cheshire residents urged to find out what's going on in their community this weekend to honour those who have died in service
8 November 2018Servicemen and women who have given their lives in conflict will be remembered across the whole borough this weekend.
Remembrance events are taking place in towns and villages across west Cheshire and the Council is urging residents to honour those who have died by attending locally-run occasions.
Services of Remembrance will also be held in Chester, Ellesmere Port and other towns in west Cheshire to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Councillor Louise Gittins, Cabinet Member for Communities and Wellbeing, said: “Given the present day demands on our Armed Forces it is clear that Remembrance Sunday remains as important as ever.
“This is the time of year we can remember and recognise the bravery of those who fought and died in our name.
“This Armistice Day marks 100 years since the end of World War One. I would encourage residents to pay their respects to our serviceman and women past and present by attending one of the services of Remembrance locally to them.”
