Foodie Friday at Chester Indoor Market welcomed The Lord Mayor of Chester, Councillor Alex Black last week to experience the latest early evening attraction for the city centre.

The Market is now open until 8pm on Friday’s; the Lord Mayor met traders including Crustum, Intuneative, Jeffros Wingz an Tingz, Stile Napoletano, Nicebites and That Beer Place.

The Lord Mayor said: “Thanks for the warm welcome, it’s good to see the market so busy with lots of new traders and entertainment.

“This early evening offer is proving to be a huge success, providing a street food hub and communal seating area plus a chance to do some shopping.” Chester Market will be extending opening hours during the festive period for unique gifts, crafts, foods and treats.
  • Thursdays 8am to 8pm (29 November, 6 December and 13 December).
  • Fridays 8am to 8pm (every Friday except 28 December).
  • Sundays 11am to 4pm (2 December, 9 December, 16 December and 23 December).
The Chester Indoor Market will be at the heart of Chester Northgate, with a new market building being part of the first phase.

According to national footfall figures from Springboard, markets across the country have seen an average reduction in visits of 3.2 per cent over the past year. Chester Market however has welcomed 674,000 visitors this year, which is a massive 15.8 per cent increase.
