Streetscene team takes PRIDE in Chester's streets after successful event

23 August 2017

Chester PRIDE was bigger and better than ever this year and saw huge crowds enjoying the party in Chester’s Castle Square.

When the celebrations were over, Cheshire West and Chester’s Streetscene team set about clearing up.

The Chester Street Cleansing team were present during the event itself to keep things ship shape and, as soon as the party was over, they cleared away nearly three tonnes of rubbish and party paraphernalia.

The Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Councillor Karen Shore said: “PRIDE was a huge success and everyone had a fantastic time.

When everyone went home a dedicated team of Streetscene staff worked incredibly hard tidying everything up and removing all traces of the celebrations before most people were awake the next morning. I would like to say a big thank you to them for taking such ‘PRIDE’ in Chester’s streets and making the city spic and span again for visitors the following day.”
