Hear about recommendations for the future at Dee House at public event

14 January 2020

A vision for the future of Chester’s Dee House will be presented to residents at a series of public drop in sessions next month.

The Dee  House and Amphitheatre Working Group is inviting the public to the events on 6 February, 6-8pm, at Storyhouse, in Chester, and 12 February, 1-5pm, at the Palatine Room in Chester Town Hall.

The group has been meeting monthly for a year to find out the facts about Dee House, hear from experts about the historic and archaeological significance of the site and how it could be developed.

At its recent meeting, the group has come up with a series of recommendations which outlines its vision for the way forward for the city centre site.

Members of the working group will be present at these events to reveal their findings to the wider community and answer questions from the public.

Andy Foster, chair of the group, said: “After carefully considering all the facts from a series of experts on archaeology and historic building conservation, the group has concluded our discussions with a series of recommendations.

“We would like to share our recommendations with the wider community at these events in order to gain their feedback. Our final report to the Council will include our recommendations and the feedback from the wider community.”

The event on 6 February will include a short presentation by Andy Foster. Book online at Eventbrite if you wish to attend that presentation.

If you wish to attend the rest of the event there is no need for a ticket.

If you are not available to attend either of these, the recommendations will be available online after 6 February.
