Last chance to have your say on parking in Cheshire West
20 February 2017There are just a few more days to have your say on parking in the borough. Cheshire West and Chester Council’s 12-week parking strategy consultation will close on Friday, 24 February.
The Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Councillor Karen Shore said: “Car ownership continues to increase and parking provision in our town centres and rural areas must keep pace. We need your views to ensure we can develop a future-proof parking strategy that meets the needs of all our customers.
“We are only consulting on the initial proposals made by our independent consultants and it’s important to stress that no decisions have been made.
“I’d also like to clarify that this consultation is totally separate to the Council’s Transport Strategy for Chester, published in 2014. It contained several long-term proposals that could affect parking provision, including the pedestrianisation of some areas of the city. However, no further work has been done on the pedestrianisation proposals and further consultation would be needed if that changes.
“Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to get in touch or attended one of our drop-in sessions across the borough. If you haven’t got involved yet, please do so before 24 February.”
