Learn the craft of hedge laying and improve your health

26 September 2017

The Countess of Chester Park has an exciting range of free activities available this autumn helping to improve health and wellbeing. A hedge laying course starts on Monday 9 October 10am to 3pm for eight weeks. Numbers are limited and offered on a first come first served basis. No previous experience is required.

Councillor Louise Gittins, Cabinet Member for Communities and Wellbeing said: “This is a traditional craft for managing hedges and a great way to enjoy the outdoors, get some exercise, learn new skills, and meet likeminded people.”  The course is run by Cheshire West and Chester Council Health Ranger Chris Moseley, an instructor with over 30 years’ experience. Hedge laying provides a strong boundary and rejuvenates the hedge which in turn increases its life span.

All equipment will be provided but wear suitable footwear, waterproof and warm clothing as the activity will take place outdoors. This activity has been funded by the Health 4 life project.

To book or for more information contact: Alistair Cook, Countess of Chester Country Park, telephone: 0151 423 4433 or 07767113136.
