Council reports on 2016/17 performance
6 October 2017Cheshire West and Chester Council has published its Annual Report 2016/17, which sets out how it has performed in the past financial year.
The report highlights achievements during the Council’s first full year of working towards the Council Plan, Helping the Borough Thrive.
It outlines investment made in housing, culture, care and transport, as well as innovations to help maintain high quality services in a continually challenging financial climate.
A section of the report also focuses on the Council’s financial performance.
Councillor Samantha Dixon, Leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council, said: “Although the Council continuously assesses its progress against the Council Plan, the Annual Report is an important opportunity to take stock of the last financial year.
“I’m proud of what we have achieved in 2016/17 – we have made significant progress in each of the plan’s outcome areas and volunteered for independent evaluation in three separate Local Government Association peer reviews to make sure that we are doing the right things in the right way to deliver those outcomes.
“The report picks out the range of initiatives and investment made by the Council to help make life better in our borough and help residents, communities and our economy to thrive, even though we are operating in very difficult financial circumstances.”
