Volunteers in Friends of Groups, who give their time and energy to improving where they live, are being invited to a free conference.
Called love where you live the conference is being organised by Cheshire Wildlife Trust, Chester Voluntary Action and Cheshire West and Chester Council to provide practical advice and training in:
The conference will also feature a selection of case studies from Friends of Groups in the borough and provide the opportunity for networking.
- Recruiting/retaining volunteers
- Site management plans
- Social media/press releases
The conference was announced at a celebration event for volunteers in January by Cllr Louise Gittins, Cabinet Member for Communities and Wellbeing. Speaking at the event she said: “Everyday across our beautiful borough someone somewhere is volunteering and helping our borough thrive for everyone who lives here.
“Volunteers have a vital role to play in our communities and I am truly delighted to be able to offer this conference – free of charge – to all volunteers who work to enhance where they live.”
She added: “And we haven’t forgotten about all the volunteers who support people, in early autumn we will we be inviting these groups to a celebration event.”
