Community News

Officers were in attendance at the Poynton Christmas Fest on 1st December. The evening was enjoyed by all and there were no reported incidents. Thank you to residents and visitors for abiding by the Park Lane road closure and thank you to everyone who was patient and understanding with us whilst we assisted an Ambulance to a lady who had taken a fall.

Property and Vehicle Crime

On the 8th December there was an attempted burglary on Barnaby Road where offenders have tried to gain access through a bathroom window. Please call 101 and quote CC15366845 if you have any information.

Overnight 8th – 9th December eggs were thrown at a house on Adlington Close. If you have children, particularly teenagers please advise them that this is a form of Anti-Social Behaviour. Please let us know of any Anti-social behaviour by calling us on 101.

Over the weekend of 11th December officers including the National Police Air Support Helicopter and Cheshire Search and Rescue were deployed to look for a local missing male. The male was found the next day and taken to hospital as a precaution.

Overnight 11th-12th December a shed has been broken into on London Road North and a leaf blower was stolen from within. Please call 101 and quote CC15370946 if you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area.

Overnight 12th-13th December a bus stop was damaged on London Road North opposite Park Avenue. If you have any information please call us on 101 and quote CC15371896.

On 13th December around 14.00 hours an attempt was made to steal a bike from a garage on Glastonbury Drive. The same offender burgled a house on London Road in Adlington the next day. Officers were deployed to the area and with assistance from the police helicopter and dog unit the offender was caught and arrested. The male has been charged with burglary, assault and aggravated vehicle taking.

Overnight 13th-14th December a vehicle had 2 tyre’s damaged whilst parked on Skellorn Green, Adlington. If you have any information please call 101 and quote crime number 0715372733.

On 14th December between 10.45am-11.15am a push bike was stolen from a garage on Waterloo Road. Please shut and lock garage/shed doors whenever you leave them unattended, even for a short time. It only takes seconds for someone to take something. If you have any info or CCTV call 101 and quote crime number 0715372948.

On 15th December around 13.00 hours a burglary occurred on Hawthorne Grove, Poynton. Offenders gained entry by forcing a rear ground floor window. Did you see any suspicious people or vehicles in the area? We would like to speak to 2 males seen in the area at the time. One of the males was in a blue waterproof coat/jacket, a grey woolly hat and bright red gloves. If you have CCTV or information about this incident please call 101 and quote CC15374258.

Between 16th-17th December 2 lion shaped garden statues were stolen from outside a house on Lostock Road. Do you have any CCTV or information? Call us on 101 and quote crime number 0715376972.

Between 19.30 hours on the 18th December and 00.30 hours on 19th December a burglary occurred at a property on Middlewood Road. If you have any information please call 101 and quote  CC15378032.

On 19th December around 17.00 hours a burglary occurred on Chester Road. A Mercedes car was stolen from the drive. We are particularly keen to trace a blue Golf that was seen in the area at the time. If you have any information or CCTV regarding this incident please call us on 101 quoting CC15378809.

On 19th December around 23.00hours a group of males were seen damaging a fence on Selby Close. Did you see this group? Do you know any of the offenders? Please call 101 and quote CC15379161.

Overnight 19th – 20th December items were taken from a car parked on a driveway on Brookfield Avenue. It is believed that the vehicle may have been left insecure. Please quote CC15381086, If you have any information. Please always ensure that your vehicle is locked and secure whenever it is left unattended.

Around 10pm on 26th December a male was assaulted on Barnaby Road, it is believed to be an isolated incident. The male was conveyed to hospital for treatment. If you witnessed the incident, have any information or CCTV please call 101 and quote CC15385818.

Overnight 30th-31st December a vehicle was damaged with a sharp implement whilst parked on Park Lane. Please call 101 and quote CC15390305 if you have any information.

Other News

Over the month of December in Poynton there have been 2 drivers arrested and charged after failing a roadside drug swipe, 2 drivers arrested for failing a roadside breath test and 1 vehicle seized for no insurance.
