 Burglary
 Incidents reported relating to residential property:
 
ELLESMERE PORT EAST
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Ewloe Court - 2 unknown male offenders approach front door and unsuccessfully attempt to force the lock.  Disturbed by the home owner.  Males left area in black vehicle.
  • Whitby
  • Elm Grove – Entry gained via door by unknown means and handbag taken before offender/s disturbed.  Handbag found discarded on door step minus purse.
  • Willow Grove – Male offender enters property via insecure door but is disturbed by home. – Male arrested.
  • Clydesdale – Brick used to smash side window of conservatory to gain entry.  Untidy search made and spare key to VW Golf R, DF64 LDD taken.  Vehicle which was parked on driveway taken.
  • Strawberry
  • Blackthorn Avenue – Entry gained by forcing front door.  Tidy search made and car keys taken.  Offender disturbed by home owner and made off. Vehicle not taken. – Male arrested.
ELLESMERE PORT WEST
  • Ledsham and Manor
  • Armthorpe Drive – Hallway entered via insecure front door.  Keys to Fiat 500 and Ford Focus taken.  The Fiat has then been reversed off the drive into the road and abandoned.  The Ford Focus, SH55 SJO was taken.
  • Willaston and Thornton
  • Heath Lane – Access gained to property by forcing window to ground floor bedroom.  Tidy search made and video camera taken, which was left in the rear garden.
  • Chester Road – Rear yard entered and unknown implement used to smash rear patio window.  Untidy search made and cash taken.  Offender disturbed by occupant and escapes out of first floor window.
  • Sutton
  • Halton Road – Entry gained via insecure front door.  Untidy search made and keys to vehicle, Vauxhall Astra, BU15 EZF taken along with vehicle. – Vehicle recovered by Merseyside Police in Liverpool.
  • Sutton way – Entry gained into communal area of flats. Front door to flat repeatedly kicked to gain entry.  Nothing believed taken. 
Incidents reported relating to business premises:
 
ELLESMERE PORT EAST
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Stanney Mill Lane – Padlock cut from chain fencing at side of Mitchell Mazda Group allow entry into secure yard.  Door to workshop forced to gain entry and two five foot ‘snap on’ tool boxes taken. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST
  • Little Neston and Burton
  • Chester High Road – CCTV shows 4 males arrive at Gordale Garden Centre in a light coloured saloon vehicle.  They force entry to the building and then force entry into the cash office.  2 safes, which have been are removed from the wall, cash floats, gift vouchers and the keys to a Mercedes van and the van itself, DG56 ZYT are all taken with the offenders leaving in the direction of Heswall, Merseyside. – The van was located in Merton Place, Birkenhead, Merseyside. The vehicle in which the offenders arrived was reported as having been stolen from Prenton, Merseyside.  
  • Neston
  • Windle Court, Clayhill Industrial Estate – Door to warehouse forced by unknown means to gain entry.  Alarm system disabled by smashing keypad and speaker off wall.  Untidy search made and CCTV hard drive removed before offender/s have left.
  • Netherpool
  • Junction 8 Business Park – Perimeter fence to Essar Oil Ltd, scaled by offenders to gain access to contractors compound.  Various power tools placed into a wheel barrow which was left behind. 
Incidents reported relating to outbuildings/garden:
 
ELLESMERE PORT EAST
  • Rossmore
  • Westminster Road – Catch that padlock clips to snipped to gain access into shed.  2 bikes, Giant and a hybrid bike taken.  
ELLESMERE PORT WEST
  • St. Pauls
  • Oliver Lane – Lock on garden gate damaged to gain entry to rear garden.  Insecure shed entered and quantity of fishing equipment taken.
Criminal Damage 

Incidents reported relating to criminal damage, with the exclusion of damage to vehicles:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Wolverham Road – Male ejected from ‘The Cat’ Public House smashed window with fist and forehead.
  • Bunbury Green – Side wall of convenience store has writing sprayed along in black paint.
  • Whitby
  • Whitby Park – Annex to hall has tiled damaged on roof by unknown means.
  • Skye Close – Outer pane of glass in front window smashed by large log. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST
  • Parkgate
  • Leighton Road – Fence line has been cut by unknown offender/s leaving livestock exposed to the road.
  • St. Pauls
  • Hawthorn Road – Rear kitchen window has outer pane of window smashed by unknown means.
  • Chester Road – 2 windows to library smashed, possibly by a stone.
  • Sutton
  • Grange
  • Kensington Road – Lock on front garden gate snapped off.
  • Pooltown Road – Unknown object thrown at front window causing outer pane to smash.
Theft 

Incidents reported relating to theft, with the exclusion of shop lifting & vehicle theft:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Kinsey Road – Handbag removed from back of chair whilst reporting person at Starbucks.
  • Whitby
  • Stanney Lane – Carrera Zelos, secured outside Ellesmere Port Sports Village taken. – CCTV shows large male offender remove lock with bolt cutters and make off in the direction of the houses opposite.
  • Stanney Lane – Scoot Sub 30 mountain bike, secured in bike rack at Ellesmere Port Sports Village removed. – CCTV shows offender removing the bike having cut the chain with bolt croppers. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST
  • Little Neston and Burton
  • Shotwick Lane – Marble grave stone snapped and bottom half containing RAF memorial taken from graveyard at St. Michaels Church
  • Willaston and Thornton
  • Vernon Avenue – Hiace van, parked outside residential property has catalytic convertor taken after offender/s have sawn through exhaust pipe to gain access.
  • Grange
  • Sutton Way – 3 separate incidents reported as occurring during the time frame of this bulletin.  All the bikes have been taken from the bike racks within the grounds of West Cheshire College.  In the 1st a lime green Trek road bike was taken. – CCTV shows a male removing the lock with bolt cutters before taking bike.  In the 2nd report CCTV shows a light coloured saloon vehicle pull up by entrance.  A male then scales the fence, removed the bikes padlock with bolt cutters before throwing bike back over the fence.  He then rides off on the bike.  In the 3rd report a Scott mountain bike, in black with light and dark green flashing and front suspension taken.  This bike had been left insecure. – CCTV shows 2 youths removing the bike on this occasion.
Vehicle Crime 

Incidents reported relating to theft/attempt theft of motor vehicles:

  • Whitby
  • Clydesdale - VW Golf R, DF64 LDD taken after spare key taken during burglary. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST
  • Little Neston and Burton
  • Chester High Road – Mercedes Vito van, DG56 ZYT taken after keys obtained in a burglary at Gordale Garden Centre. – Van recovered in Merton Place, Birkenhead, Merseyside.
  • Ledsham and Manor
  • Armthorpe Drive -  Ford Focus, SH55 SJO taken after keys obtained during burglary.
  • Sutton
  • Halton Road – Vauxhall Astra BU15 EZF taken after keys taken in burglary. – Vehicle recovered by Merseyside Police in Liverpool.

Incidents reported relating to theft / attempt theft from motor vehicles:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Ashfield Road – Male and female seen looking around Renault Clio.  They are then witnessed attempting to force the door open. -  Tracked by cctv and arrested for vehicle interference.
  • Whitby
  • The Riddings – VW Passat, parked on driveway entered by unknown means. Golf clubs and briefcase taken.
  • Rossmore
  • Joseph Groom Towers – Unsuccessful attempt made to take rear registration plate from Yamaha BT1100 bulldog motorcycle. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST
  • Parkgate
  • The Parade – Nissan Navara, parked on car park of The Ship PH has rear window of cab smashed.  Circular saw, Makita cordless drill and Makita grinder taken. 
Incidents reported relating to damage to motor vehicles: 
ELLESMERE PORT EAST
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Kinsey Road – Citroen DS3, parked on car park of Sainsburys scratched along near side panels. – named suspect.
  • Wolverham Drive – 2 neighbouring properties have their vehicles damaged. Vauxhall Zafira has paint stripper type liquid thrown over vehicle.  Neighbours Vauxhall Zafira, parked on driveway  has stone thrown at windscreen causing it to smash.
  • Rossmore
  • Peckforton Drive – Ford Ka has the word ‘silly’ scratched into the bonnet.
  • Egerton Street – Vauxhall Corsa has boot and offside rear passenger door kicked causing denting. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST
  • Little Neston and Burton
  • The Green – Vauxhall Corsa, parked on residential street is scratched along the passenger doors and the door handle appears to be now loose as if someone has pulled it excessively. – Same vehicle was damage in late December when the rear windscreen wiper was ripped off and the offside rear door kicked leaving dent.
  • Warwick Close – 3 vehicles at address all damaged by unknown offender/s. 2 Mercedes vans have 3 of their tyres slashed and body work scratched with an unknown implements. Toyota has 3 tyres slashed.
  • Neston
  • Hinderton Road – Audi Q7, parked on residential driveway has all 4 tyres slashed.
  • Parkgate
  • Buggen Lane – Audi A3 has rear windscreen smashed by unknown implement.
  • South Parade – Renault Kangoo van has passenger window smashed. – Same vehicle had tyres slashed before Christmas when parked in same place.
  • Ledsham and Manor
  • Ledsham Park – Report of 2 males possibly attempting to steal a VW Golf GTI, parked on residential driveway. Police vehicle has brick thrown at windscreen which has smashed it. Males made off in a 14 reg Audi S3 Quattro in blue. – Enquires have shown that the vehicle was on cloned registration plates.
  • Willaston and Thornton
  • Woodland View – Ford Fiesta and Nissan Qashquai, parked on residential driveway both have all four tyres slashed.
  • New Road – Suzuki Alto has deep scratch to offside passenger door.
  • Netherpool
  • Blackstairs Road – VW Polo has casing to wing mirror cracked when kicked by male offender. – Named suspect.
  • Plantation Drive – Ford C-max, parked on residential driveway has brick thrown through window.
  • Sutton
  • Thelwall Road – Renault Twingo has the drivers side wing mirror kicked off. – Male arrested.
  • Broadland Road – Audi has tyre slashed.
  • Bebington Road – Vauxhall Corsa, parked at roadside has front near side window smashed.
Other incidents of note 
  • ARSON – A number of vehicles were set alight and one door damage by a lit aerosol all believed to have been committed by the same offenders.  All incidents have taken place on what is believed to have been a route they have taken. – 2 males have been arrested.   
    • Peckforton Drive – Vauxhall Zafira, parked on road has been doused with petrol and set alight.
    • Seacombe Drive – 2 separate vehicles targeted.  Vauxhall Zafira has petrol poured over it and is set alight.  Ford Mondeo, parked on road has petrol poured over it and is set alight.
    • Church Lane – Aerosol lit and aimed towards door causing scorch marks and damage.
    • Rostherne Avenue - BMW, parked on driveway has petrol thrown over front windscreen and is set alight. 
    • Baker Drive – Cover on VW camper van has liquid thrown over it and an attempt made to set it alight.
