Happy New Year to our readers and welcome to our January 2016 Poynton Police Newsletter.

Community News

We have been receiving reports of anti-social behavior in which offenders have been throwing eggs at houses. Please be aware that this is an act of ASB that can lead to criminal damage and any offenders caught will be dealt with. Some of the victims have been vulnerable older people who feel scared and threatened by the attacks.

On 22nd January around 16.30 a property was burgled on Broughton Road, Adlington. 2 males were seen in the area at the time and were located nearby by officers. The 2 males were arrested on suspicion of burglary and stolen property was located nearby.

Property and Vehicle Crime

Overnight 4th -5th January we received reports of two garage burglary’s on Trafalgar Avenue. Offenders have stolen push bikes and tools from inside. Did you see anything suspicious? Call us on 101 and quote crime reference: CC16003869.

Overnight 5th – 6th January a gate was damaged on Coppice Road we also received a report that a vehicle was entered on the same night on this road. Please ensure that your vehicles are locked and secure whenever they are left unattended.

Overnight 6th - 7th January a garage was broken into on Waterloo Road. A male from Stockport has been arrested and charged with burglary in connection with this incident.

Over the weekend of 9th-11th January a trailer unit on Adlington Industrial Estate was broken into and high value stock was taken from inside the compound. Over the same weekend locks to the entrance to Adlington Golf Course were also broken. Did you see anything suspicious? Did you see any vehicles in the area? Please call 101.

On 11th January a vehicle was stopped on Clifford Road and the driver was arrested after providing a positive drug swipe.

Between 12.10 – 13.20, 13th January four tyres were let down on a SAAB vehicle whilst parked in Waitrose car park, Park Lane. Did you see anything? Do you know who is responsible? Call us on 101 and quote crime reference CC16012101.

Between 1st – 20th January a garage was entered on London Road North and a Honda Petrol mower was stolen from within. Please call 101 and quote crime reference number 0716019820 if you have any information.

In the early hours of 24th January a vehicle was stopped on Chester Road and the vehicle seized for no insurance. The 2 male occupants of the vehicle were also arrested for being wanted by Greater Manchester Police.

Saturday 6th February, 10.00am - 11.00am – Officers will be at the Joint Council Surgery held at Poynton Civic Hall.

Saturday 20th February, 10.00am – 12.00pm – Officers will be holding a Crime Prevention Surgery held at Waitrose Car Park, Park Lane.

Sunday 28th February, 10.00am – 12.00pm – officers will be at Higher Poynton Surgery held at the Trading Post, Lyme Road.
