Poynton February Newsletter

Hello and welcome to our February newsletter and a warm welcome to all our new members. Please encourage your friends and family to join up to Cheshire Alert to receive regular updates from Cheshire Police.

Community News

Over the last month we have had an increase in anti-social behaviour in the area. This includes youths throwing eggs at houses. This has mainly occurred on Friday evenings. We have been assisted by members of our Special Constabulary and have increased patrols in the areas targeted. If you see any one in the area acting anti–socially or you know who is responsible for this anti–social behaviour please let us know by calling 101 and asking to speak to one of your local PCSOs. Alternatively you can call CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. If you become a victim of anti – social behaviour please call us, we want to know.

On the 17th February a warrant was carried out at a property in Poynton and a male was arrested for possession with intent to supply a control drug. If you believe that drug dealing is going on in your area please let us know by calling 101 or alternatively you can call CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Vehicle and Property Crime

Overnight 2-3rd February a shed was broken into on Hilton Road and a push bike was stolen from within. Any info Call 101 and quote crime number 0716033340.

Overnight 12-13th February a quad bike was stolen from outside Coppice House on London Road South. Did you see any vehicles in the area? Anyone acting suspiciously? Call 101 and quote crime number CC16043232.

On 13th February around 2pm 2 Caravans were set alight on Lostock Hall Farm. Did you see anyone in the area? Call us on 101 quoting CC16043787.

On 23rd February during school hours a CUBE push bike was stolen from inside the grounds of Poynton High School. Any info please call 101 quoting crime number CC16049718.

Overnight 23rd-24th February a CUBE push bike was stolen from inside a shed on Elm Beds Road. Any info call 101 quoting CC16055797.
On an unknown date over the last month an upstairs window was damaged by a thrown or fired object on Meadway. If you have any info please call 101 and quote 280 of 26/02/2016.

Other News

On 19th February Our Roads Traffic Policing Team held an operation targeting illegal drivers. Two vehicles were seized for no insurance, two vehicles were seized for no tax and a driver was reported for driving with no MOT on their vehicle.

On 19th February a vehicle was stopped on London Road South and the driver arrested drink driving after failing a roadside breath test.

On 13th February two males were issued cannabis warnings after a stop check of a vehicle on London Road North.

Saturday 6th March,  10am-11am – Joint Council Surgery held at the Civic Centre, Park Lane.
Saturday 12th March, 10am-12pm – A new Police drop in will take place in the Community Lounge at Lawrence Place (off Barnaby Road)
Saturday 19th March, 10am-12pm – Our Crime Prevention Surgery will take place at Waitrose, Park Lane.
Sunday 27th March, 10am-12pm – The Higher Poynton Surgery will take place at The Trading Post, Lyme Road.
