Spring Has Arrived

At last we have started to see some warmer weather and people getting out in the gardens. This warmer weather normally brings out not just daffodils but also criminals who target garages and sheds.
Make sure you keep your gardening equipment secure from would be thieves as lawn mowers and strimmer’s are usually on their shopping list.
You can purchase relevantly cheap battery operated alarms for sheds and garages which if activated will deter a thief. Don’t by second hand items unless you are happy of where it has come from, if it sounds like a bargain it could be stolen.
Theft from garages and sheds

In March a shed has been broken into in Primrose Close where an offender burgled the shed the victim of this crime has opened the shed to find items missing. The items taken from the shed were a fire pit, barbecue, jet wash, deck chairs and leaf blower. Also a bike has been stolen from Waterbridge Mews where they had taken the wheel off the bike and removed the frame from a secure outdoor area.  I would like to remind the community that at this time of year burglary’s to sheds increase so you should be extra vigilant and report any suspicious activity. We have increased patrols in this area this coming week.

Criminal Damage
A window has been smashed on Cornwall Close a curious case where the inner pain of a double glazed window has been smashed,  this occurred between 09.30 -13.00 on 19th March 2016. Anyone with information to assist the identification of the offenders please ring 101.
Officers seized an off road motorbike from an address in Limekiln Row following reports of male riding the bike at speed on footpaths, the male has attended at the police station and been advised regarding his behaviour.

A polite reminder to residents regarding keeping motor bikes in your address. This is a fire risk which would put you and other people in danger also you would be breaching your tenancy agreement. You must take all reasonable steps to protect the property from intruders and the risk of damage by fire. Using a bike in an anti-social manner in the area will not be tolerated and again this would be breaching the tenancy agreements. Nuisance is causing annoyance, disturbing the peace or comfort or damage the property of neighbors.
