Fraud phone calls!!! Beware

Alert message sent 09/04/2016 12:15:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Hello and good morning all, I have noticed a rise in fraudulent phone calls this week and would like to make you aware of the scam.

There is a team of possibly two males who call residential homes and state they are from the Fraud department, Metropolitan police in London. They believe your debit card has been compromised and your money is at risk. They will ask for you to transfer your bank balance or an amount into another account that they will provide you with. They state this will make sure your money is secured. They are very very convincing and the names they are tending to use at the moment are as follows:-

DC Hart
DC Deveroux
Tim Parish

They will give you false collar numbers RD246, MK141 or others we don't yet know about.

If you start to question their intentions they will ask you to call 161 to check they are verified, 161 does not connect to anyone. This is so they can get you off the phone without them having to confront you.

Please DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR BANK DETAILS OVER THE PHONE ever.

If you may have had one of these calls please call Trading standards on 0345 4040506 to report it and Cheshire Police on 101. This way Trading Standards and Police can keep track of what these guys are up and try to locate them.

Thank you for reading this and please advise others of this fraud as it is becoming quite common.

Many Thanks for your support
