Beat Managers Update-November

Alert message sent 01/12/2016 08:53:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Dear All,

Welcome to the Cheshire Alert Update for the Old Town/Mersey area of Runcorn.
A successful drugs warrant was conducted on Parker Street this month. One male and one female were arrested for possession with intent to supply class A drugs. Warrants will continue to be executed as we continue to ‘weed out’ drug dealers in the Old Town.
Following complaints officers are clamping down on parking in the Town Centre and issuing parking tickets to individuals causing an obstruction with their vehicles. Please make sure you are parked appropriately and not on double yellow lines.
In the lead up to Christmas we wanted to provide you with some burglary crime prevention advice:

  • 35% of burglaries occur because a window or door has been left unlocked, so make sure all your doors and windows are locked, especially in the evening
  • Keep keys away from letterboxes, to prevent burglars ‘fishing’ for them and letting themselves into your property
  • If you are going out in the evening, give the impression your house is still occupied. Leave a light on and draw the curtains
  • Leave all valuables out of view (this includes valuables in your car!)
Furthermore, as we begin to have more frosty mornings, please make sure that you don’t leave your vehicle with the engine running unattended whilst de-icing/warming it up. This is a gift to criminals who want to steal your car!
Finally, we hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends. Stay safe!

Kind Regards,
The Beat Management Team
PC Kennedy, PC Green, PC Goddard, PCSO Thompson and PCSO Buckles
