Email Scam

Alert message sent 25/01/2017 12:37:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

An email purporting to be from H & M Customs is being sent to unsuspecting members of the public.
The content of the email states that the recipient is due a tax refund and to claim it they need to click on a REFUND button. DO NOT click on any Hyperlink.
HMRC would never communicate this way - least of all to let you know you are due a tax refund!

More and more of these emails are circulating these days, and people are still falling for it, and losing serious amounts of money.

1 - HMRC will NEVER email you to let you know about a tax refund

2 - It is VERY important that you DO NOT open any attachments on messages like this; they may contain a virus!
3 -  And remember! "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't".

If you do receive any of these emails report them to Action Fraud
