Community News

On Saturday 28th January we received a report of a white van in the area acting suspiciously. The vehicle was located by local PCSOs near London Road South. A 55yr old male from Offerton was subsequently arrested with possession with intent to supply a class B drugs after a quantity of drugs were found in the vehicle.

On Saturday 28th January we received numerous reports of anti-social behaviour throughout the afternoon/evening. A dispersal order was put in place for the area and several youths were given dispersal notices to leave the area of Poynton.

Vehicle and Property Crime

Overnight 5th-6th January we received reports of sheds that had been broken into on Mallard Crescent, Chester Road and Distaff Road. Electrical items and push bikes had been stolen from within. Please report any suspicious activity to us on 101.

Around 9pm on 6th January a gate latch and fence post was damaged on Chester Road. A group of youths were seen in the area at the time. Do you know who is responsible? Please call 101 quoting crime number 0717006406.

Vehicle stopped on Dickens Lane by officers in the early hours of 10th January and the driver arrested after failing a roadside drugs test.

Between 14th-17th January a detached garage was broken into on London Road North close to Brookside Garden Centre and 2 lawn mowers were stolen. If you have any information please call 101 quoting Crime Ref number 0717016208.

Around 12pm on 17th January a vehicle was stopped by response officers on Chester Road. The vehicle was seized for no insurance. The driver was arrested on warrant. Later on the same day another vehicle was stopped and seized on London Road South for having no insurance.

Around midnight on 16th January a vehicle was stopped by our response team and the driver arrested after failing a roadside drugs test.

Around 1pm on 23rd January our Roads Policing Officers stopped a vehicle on Anglesey Drive and arrested a male on suspicion of drink driving. The driver’s vehicle was also seized for having no insurance.

Between 2pm and 3.30pm a burglary occurred at a property on Lower Park Road. Offenders gained entry by removing a window from the property. If you have any information please call 101 and quote incident 555 of 23/01/2017

In the early hours of 28th January a vehicle was stop checked on Dombey Road by our Roads Policing Officers and the male driver arrested for failing a roadside drugs test.

Between 2.30pm and 6pm on 29th January an attempt was made to gain entry into a garage on Clifford Road. Damage was caused but no entry was gained. Did you witness the incident? Did you see anyone acting suspiciously in the area? Please call 101 quoting incident 715 of 29/01/17.

Between 28th -31st January a shed was broken into on Green Lane and 2 petrol lawn mowers were stolen from inside. If you have any CCTV or information on this incident please call 101 quoting Crime Ref: 0717030960.
