Anti Social Behaviour

Alert message sent 17/02/2017 15:02:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Good Afternoon Residents

We have recently had a number of complaints from residents around the Frederick Street area and outside Asda/ McDonalds, Widnes.  These complaints are in relation to youths creating anti social behaviour.  The incidents are occurring evening times from 8pm onwards and are particularly worse Friday/ Saturday evenings.
The youths, when in Frederick Street have been targeting a particular address banging on the door and windows of the property. Other addresses have had similar and one  in particular belongs to an 80 year old female who was obviously very distressed and upset.
It is believed that the groups are making their way from Victoria Park along Frederick Street and then onto Asda/McDonalds.  They are very rowdy, in large groups and have often been drinking.
Friday 10th February officers obtained details of no fewer than 30 youths names and addresses who they believed were involved . A number of those had been drinking alcohol, all were under 16 years old.  Their behaviour and involvement is being looked into by other officers and appropriate action will be taken.
ASB is now recorded as a crime and youths responsible could face a court appearance and a criminal conviction.

Anti social behaviour will not be tolerated by Cheshire Police and action will be enforced against any person found or believed to be involved.
Dispersal orders and Zones have been authorised by Chief Insp Rees for this  weekend in anticipation of further problems.

Many thanks
