Community News

All emergency services were kept busy with Storm Doris on Thursday 23rd February. We received multiple calls of trees and debris blocking roads in and around Poynton, including a large tree that brought down power cables and blocked the road close to the Legh Arms. We thank you for your patience and in some cases assistance whist we dealt with these incidents.


Property and Vehicle Crime
Between 26th January and 2nd February a TV aerial has been removed from a canal boat moored at The Boatyard, Lyme Road. Any info please call 101 quoting Incident 569 02/02/17.

Around 2.10am on 6th February offenders were disturbed attempting to remove goods from a vehicle on Coppice Road. If you have any information or your CCTV has captured anything please call 101 quoting incident 38 06/02/17.

Around 2.10pm on Wednesday 15th February a push bike was stolen from the bike racks outside of Waitrose. Did you see anything relating to this incident? Please call 101 and quote incident 578 15/02/17. To prevent yourself from being a victim of crime please ensure that you secure your bike when leaving it unattended, even if your only leaving it for a few moments.

Around 8pm on Friday 17th February cardboard boxes were set alight on the grounds of Poynton Sports Club. A group of youths were seen earlier on in the area. Do you know who is responsible? Please call 101 quoting incident 908 17/02/17.

Overnight 21st-22nd February a purse was stolen from a vehicle on Dickens Lane. There was no forced entry to the vehicle. If you have any information please call 101 quoting Crime Ref: 071705517. Please ensure that you remove any valuables from your vehicles overnight and ensure that they are locked to prevent yourself becoming a victim of crime.

Around 6.30pm on Tuesday 21st February a burglary occurred at a property on Puffin Avenue. We have also received a report of an attempt break on Snipe Close on the same day whereby a rear patio door was smashed but no entry was gained. If you have any information/been a victim of crime or witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in the area please call 101 quoting incident 725 of 21/02/17.

Overnight 21st-22nd February a shed was broken into on Woodford Road and 10 chickens stolen from inside. If you have any information please call 101 quoting Crime Number: 0717054896.

On 24th February a vehicle was seized by our Roads Policing Team after the driver was found not to be insured.
