Poynton March Newsletter

Firstly a warm welcome to all our new Cheshire Alert users. Please encourage your friends and family to sign up to the service to receive crime updates and prevention advice.

Community News

Over the last month we have received an increase in shed and garage burglaries. Patrols have been increased in those areas targeted. To prevent yourself becoming a victim of this crime please check that your garage and shed are kept locked and secure and that any expensive equipment or bikes are either secured to ground fixtures or kept in a more secure unit or in the house.

On Sunday 12th March a vehicle was intercepted by our Roads Policing Team as it passed through Poynton heading towards Macclesfield. Two people were detained at the scene. The male driver has since been charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.

Property and Vehicle Crime

Overnight 10th-11th March 2 vehicles parked on a driveway of a property on Cherry Tree Avenue had their tyres slashed. If you have any info please call 101 quoting Crime Number: CC17075395.

Overnight 10th-11th March 2 vehicles were damaged on Oak Grove whereby there wing mirrors had been knocked off. If you witnessed the incident please call 101.

Around 10.30pm on 11th March a driver was arrested for drink driving after being involved in a road traffic collision on Woodford Road.

Between 2pm-4pm on 14th March a burglary occurred at a property on Woodford Road. Jewelry and a BWM vehicle were stolen from the address. If you have any information please call 101 quoting incident: 628 14/03/17.

Overnight 17th-18th March an attempt was made to break into a shed on Lower Park Crescent, we also received a report of items being stolen from vehicles on the same road. Please ensure your vehicles and out buildings are always left secure.

Between 8.30am and 4pm a burglary occurred at a property on Chester Rd, close to Woodford Road. If you have any info please get in touch.

Overnight 24th-25th March a detached garage was broken into on Anglesy Water, and garden power tools stolen from within. If you have any information please call 101 quoting incident 222 25/03/17.

Overnight 24th-25th March a shed was broken into on Dorrit Close and a push bike was stolen from within. If you have any information please get in touch quoting crime number 0717090621.

Overnight 27th-28th March we received a number of reports of sheds and garages broken into across Poynton and items such as push bikes, power tools and garden equipment were stolen from within.  Areas targeted were Anglesy Drive, South Park Drive and Towers Road. We also received reports of insecure vehicles entered and searched along London Road North.

Overnight 29th-30th March further shed and garage breaks were reported to us on Hasley Close, Oak Grove, Lindisfarne Drive, Milton drive and Easby Close.
