Community News

We have been working with residents of Woolley Avenue and Poynton Parish Council to roll out our first batch of Operation Shield DNA kits. Woolley Avenue has previously been a burglary hotspot in Poynton. The kits are designed to deter burglars and reunite stolen property with its rightful owner.

At 5am on 11th April a vehicle was stopped close to Brookside Garden Centre. Officers discovered that the garden centre had been broken into and a number of garden relating items were found in the vehicle.  Two males from the vehicle were arrested and charged with a number of offences including burglary.

Over the month we have received several reports of scrap thefts in the area. Please be aware that if an item is in the boundaries of a garden or inside a skip and is taken by someone other than the home owner/skip owner a theft has taken place. We caught up with several of the offenders with calls from members of the public, seized one vehicle for no insurance and a further vehicle was given a Traffic Offence Report for 2 bald tyres. Please ALWAYS report suspicious incidents.
