Reports of knife point robberies in Ridgeway Grundy Park

Alert message sent 03/05/2017 17:59:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

It has been brought to police attention that there is information circulating on some social media platforms stating that there have been a number of knife point robberies in Ridgeway Grundy Park in Lymm.
We would like to reassure residents that this is NOT the case - we have not received any reports of this nature over the last few weeks.
There was one instance in early April where a two youths were approached by three other youths and had their coats and mobile phone stolen.  No threats, violence or weapons were used in this incident and CID are currently investigating this.
We believe that this is the incident that is being referred to and whilst serious, we believe this to be an isolated incident and as stated, no further reports of this nature have been received.
We would like to reassure residents that the park continues to get regularly patrolled by local officers and if anyone sees anything suspicious then to please contact us on 101, or 999 if an emergency.
