Cars broken into in Appleton and Kingsway

Alert message sent 10/05/2017 13:42:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Good afternoon,

There has been an increase in cars broken into in your area over the last week. To reduce the chances of it happening to you please remember to;

  • Lock your car - check the door handle to make sure it's secure before walking way.
  • Remove all valuables whenever you leave your car, including any SatNavs. If you do choose to leave them, hide them out of view.
  • Don't leave jackets or coats on display inside the car - thieves may target the car for any phones/money that they think could be in the pockets.
  • Register valuables on https://www.immobilise.com/ and/or mark your postcode and house number on them with an invisible UV pen (available from your local PCSO). This will help in tracing your property should it go missing.
  • If possible park under street lighting or where there will be people passing by (for example near other cars in a car park rather than the other end).
Finally, if you see anything suspicious, for example people looking into cars or trying handles, please call 101 to report it or in an emergency dial 999.

Thank you!
