Bike theft

Yesterday (17/07/2017) at approx 17:40 2 bikes were stolen from outside Broomfields Leisure Centre. The culprits used bolt croppers to cut the locks off the bikes and made off on the footpath toward Lyons Lane.
Bicycle thefts are occurring throughout the town so please be vigilant and if you own a bicycle please follow these simple tips.
  • Make a note of the frame number of the bike.
  • Take a photograph of the bike.
  • Invest in a good heavy duty lock, preferably a D-Lock.
  • Look out for community events that offer Bicycle security marking and get your bike marked and registered.
If anybody has any information about the stolen bikes please call Police on 101.
