The Grange - Monthly Update

Alert message sent 05/08/2017 15:57:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Hello everyone,

It’s that time again for a monthly update for The Grange! I hope that you’ve all been enjoying the summer weather (when the sun has actually come out!).

Neighbour Disputes

There have been an increasing amount of neighbour disputes over the past month, which police have been dealing with. Police will continue to work closely with our partners in housing and the council to ensure that nuisance neighbours will not be tolerated. A recent example was where police were called to a dispute with a number of allegations made by both sides. Both parties were put on ‘Acceptable Behaviour Contracts’ by police and Halton Housing Trust, which if breached in the future puts any housing tenancy at risk.

Caring for the Vulnerable

Police were notified of a male on The Grange who had been suffering with mental health, with concerns being raised by neighbours and passers by. Police and mental health services conducted a joint visit whereby the male appeared to be vulnerable and at risk. Therefore a mental health warrant was carried out at the address with doctors and mental health professionals present. The male was sectioned and was taken to a local mental health ward, where he is now receiving professional help.

Drugs Warrant

A successful drugs warrant was carried out at an address on Thorn Road, whereby one male was arrested for being in possession of drugs with intent to supply. A large quantity of suspected ‘deals’ were recovered at the address. The property has now since been reclaimed by Halton Housing Trust, so a positive result all round!

Suspicious Activity

There were a number of reports regarding suspicious persons around Town Park and Boston Avenue. Although a number of patrols were sent to the area, nothing further was found. However we always remind people to remain vigilant and report anything that appears suspicious through the non-emergency number 101 and emergencies through 999.

Thank-you for spending the time to read this and I hope you have a safe and enjoyable August,

Best wishes,
