Alert message sent 29/12/2017 08:10:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Dear Residents

There have been a few incidents reported over the Warrington West area where car doors have been tried on vehicles overnight.

On Monday 18th December 2017 01:00 in the morning on Windmill Lane, Penketh.

One male was seen attempting car doors on the street before being disturbed by a resident.

On Wednesday 27th December 2017 03:27 in the morning on Vincent Close, Old Hall.

Two males have been seen on CCTV trying car doors.

Some simple advice to prevent theft from your vehicle
  • Removing everything from the car; don't even leave a jacket where it can be seen
  • Closing the sunroof along with the windows when you leave
  • Not storing things in the boot; take them with you
  • Storing car ownership information in your home, not your car
  • Having a routine to ensure you always take the keys out of the ignition
  • Taking removable stereos and sat nav equipment with you
  • In addition, using secure (theft resistant) number plates can make your plates less attractive to thieves
Kind regards
