Residents urged to be vigilant following spate of burglaries in Warrington west
Warrington residents are being urged to be vigilant following a recent spate of domestic burglaries in which gold jewellery appears to have been targeted.
The burglaries have taken place in the west of Warrington.
The vast majority have been in the Great Sankey area and taken place while the occupants have not been at home.
Most of the offences have been committed between 6pm and 8pm and have seen burglars forcing their way into properties and stealing jewellery, particularly gold items.
Police are urging anyone with information about any of the burglaries to come forward and are assuring residents that they are doing everything they can to catch the people responsible and bring them to justice.
“There has been a rise in burglaries in which family gold seems to have been targeted in Cheshire in recent months.
"We believe that those responsible are highly organised and are possibly travelling into the county from further afield to target properties they believe are likely to contain gold.
“It is therefore crucial that the police, its partners and residents work together to make life as difficult as possible for the criminals.”
Please report any suspicious incidents to the police via 101 or 999.
Please do not report them via Social Media as this is not monitored 24/7
