News Bulletin

Runcorn Local Policing Unit, Grange Area

May 2018

Crime Updates

May has been a busy month for Cheshire Police and the Grange Estate.

We have received a few reports of wheelie bins being set on fire, a shoplifting at Grangeway Shops (the 2 offenders have been charged), 2 hate crimes recorded and a fraud that took place where a bank card card was found and used by an offender.

Anti-Social Behaviour

There was some anti-social behaviour reported at Langdale Road at the start of the month. At the time of writing this, it appears to have been a one off, despite half term being this week. I will continue to monitor the area to try to prevent an ongoing problem from developing.

Suspicious Activity

Following numerous reports of suspicious activity on Thorn Road and surrounding areas, police officers have conducted a number of stop searches in the area. These stop searches produced positive results and are planned to continue throughout June.

Roads Policing

Regular speed enforcement has continued through May. Approximately an hour per week is spent with the speed enforcement camera on roads where complaints have been received. Any Cheshire residents are able to report a road for the consideration of enforcement. This can be done through the Cheshire Police Website or I can submit the complaint on your behalf.

Community information

Cheshire Police have set up Facebook and Twitter pages to provide information to residents that is specific to the Grange. The page on Facebook can be found if you search Grange Police – Runcorn (@GrangeRcnPol) and for twitter it can be found under @GrangeRcnPol. I would also ask anyone signed up to Cheshire Alert, to encourage their friends and neighbours to do the same.
