There has been extra patrols in the area’s that off road bikes have been reported to us . We have been running Operation Scrambler 2 and up to date  we have seized 2 bikes and reported several riders for several offences . This Operation has only been running for short time .We have had members of the public sending us video footage of these bikes and I hope this continues to rid the area of the bikes and riders .

There has been some intelligence of a noisy bike driving at speed down the busway towards Murdishaw very early hours of the morning if anyone has any further information possible description, where on the busway and times if they could let us know also any other bikes in the area  by email to,  email myself or ring Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800555111.

Speed enforcement has been completed this month on Murdishaw Avenue after complaints of speeding, highest speed recorded was 41mph.

Palacefields Avenue on the Norton South side has also been identified as an area to enforce.

This is a 20mph speed limit and TRUCAM will be out on this road sometime this month.

Murdishaw West and Brookvale Junior start back soon and patrols will be attending school in the morning and afternoon when commitments allow .

To do  traffic patrols but please do come and speak with your local officer if you have any issues in the area.

Events over the summer

Pcso Griffiths visited  Murdishaw West Primary to speak with the children attending the HBC play scheme ,they had a lovely morning discussing the roles of the police and keeping safe, the children also got a look in the police car. If you want myself or Pcso Griffiths to attend a local group you attend or organise , to talk about the role of the police . Please contact us .

Over the last month I have been working with the local Housing officesr , in connection to Off Road Bikes , smoking cannabis / using drugs and other ASB issues . As some of you are tenants of Onward / Riverside you must remember that any issues that affects other residents, may lead to Police action and this in turn  may affect  your tenancy with that housing authority .

If you are being affected by any of the issues mentioned please contact myself via email or you can ring crime stoppers anonymously .
Kind Regards

Pc Ian Hampson
