Ellesmere Port & Neston News Bulletin
16th to 28th September 2018
If you have any CCTV, dash cam footage, etc., that you think may have captured something of relevance in relation to any of the below incidents, further information such as dates and times can be provided.
 Incidents reported relating to RESIDENTIAL property:
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • St. Andrews Road – Home owner disturbed by the sound of someone attempting to pull open the window, which had been covered by a heavy curtain.  No entry gained. 
  • Little Neston and Burton
  • New Street – Rear of property approached and cat flap removed and offenders have reached through in an unsuccessful attempt to open the door.
  • Willaston and Thornton
  • Hadlow Road – Entry into property by unknown means.  Untidy search made within.  Jewellery and cash taken. 
Incidents reported relating to BUSINESS premises:
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Marina Drive – During overnight period 2 unknown male offenders wearing balaclavas force the lock on the shutters to the ‘Travel Care’ premises.  Whilst attempting to force the door they are disturbed and make off on pushbikes onto the Westminster area.  No entry gained into premises.
Criminal Damage
Incidents reported relating to criminal damage, with the exclusion of damage to vehicles:

  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Marina Drive – Male youths, on roof of business premises attempt to kick security camera off rear wall to ‘Papa Johns’. – Repeat issues of youths doing this during the course of this bulletin.
  • Coliseum Way – Rocks thrown at advertising hoarding at the entrance to the area causing them to smash.
  • Bunbury Green – Wheelie bin set a light and completely destroyed.
  • Sandringham Gardens – Wheelie bin set a light and completely destroyed.
  • Thornton Road – Play structure within park set alight.
  • Kenilworth Court – Wheelie bins set alight.
  • Thornton Road – 2 reports over time frame of this bulletin at the new build site.
    • Group of youths damaging boundary fencing.
    • Group of youths have accessed the site and spray painted 2 windows on one of the new build properties.
  • Rossmore
  • John Nicholas Crescent – Male who has previously been a tenant at hostel refused entry to which he proceeds to kick at the glass panels in the bottom section of the doors causing them to smash. – Male arrested.
  • Church Street – Unoccupied property has small window smashed. 
  • St. Pauls
  • Parklands – Engine oil thrown over 2 fencing panels.
  • Sutton
  • Pensby Drive – Bedroom window smashed by unknown means.
Incidents reported relating to theft, with the exclusion of shop lifting & vehicle theft:

  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Cheshire Oaks – Purse removed from bag by unknown person whilst out shopping in area.
  • Whitby
  • Whitby Park – Group of unknown females have stolen items from various stalls of the fair.
  • Woodland Road – Bike, secured to bike stand outside ‘Bedsmart’ shop has the dumper out of the front forks removed leaving the bike unusable.
  • Rossmore
  • Dock Street – Black Berghaus walking jacket with red zip taken by an unknown offender when left unattended in the ‘Horse and Jockey’ public house. 
  • Netherpool
  • North Road – 2 vehicles (details in vehicle section) and push bike targeted whilst parked on the Vauxhalls Motors car park.  Chris Boardman in white, which had been secured inside insecure bike shed taken after lock removed.
  • Grange
  • Sutton Way – Red ladies mountain bike, secured in bike rack at ‘West Cheshire College’ taken. – CCTV shows 2 unknown males, dressed in black removing the bike.
Vehicle Crime
Incidents reported relating to theft / attempt THEFT OF motor vehicles:

  • Rossmore
  • Wilkinson Street – Red Nissan Micra, FL05 LJA, taken from driveway by unknown means. – Vehicle sighted by police being driven on Netherpool Road.  Vehicle seized and male arrested. 
  • St. Pauls
  • Eastway – Audi RS6, KT59 UTY, taken by unknown means from outside residential property. – Recovered by Police in Leek, following an ATM attack.
Incidents reported relating to theft / attempt THEFT FROM motor vehicles:
  • Parkgate
  • Boathouse Lane – Vauxhall Astra has front passenger window smashed and sat. nav. taken from glovebox.
  • Ledsham and Manor
  • Manor Park Drive – BMW, parked on residential driveway entered by unknown means and a laptop and its bag and contents taken from within. – Laptop bag discarded on Hemingford Close minus the laptop.
  • Willaston and Thornton
  • Hadlow Road – 2 incidents reported during same time frame.
    • Peugeot 308, parked in car park of railway station has rear window smashed.  Not known if anything taken.
    • Nissan Note has front passenger window smashed and handbag taken from within.
  • Netherpool
  • North Road – 2 vehicles and push bike targeted whilst parked on the Vauxhalls Motors car park.
    • Ford Kuga, parked on Vauxhalls site has drivers door smashed to open.  Centre console ripped out and Mio MyView 538 deluxe sat. nav. and wallet taken.
    • Ford Fiesta has lock barrel removed to gain entry.  Thorough search made within and credit card taken.
  • St. Pauls
  • Hawthorn Road – Front and rear registration plates, VEZ 2168 removed from vehicle during overnight period.
  • Greenfield Road – Renault Traffic, parked at roadside has nearside window smashed.  Offender/s disturbed and leave area in an unknown vehicle.  Nothing taken from Renault. 
Incidents reported relating to DAMAGE TO motor vehicles:
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Ludlow Drive – Audi A5 has windscreen and front passenger window smashed. 
  • Neston
  • Raby Park Road – Microcar VIR, parked at roadside outside residential property has damage caused to the front window and side panel by bricks.
  • Grange
  • Cavell Drive – Kia Cee’d is scratched along the side of vehicle, has window cracked and hole made in roof by unknown means.
Other incidents of note…
  • Summertrees Road – Sticks set alight by group of youths within park.
