Ellesmere Port & Neston News Bulletin
24th November to 7th December 2018
  
If you have any CCTV, dash cam footage, etc., that you think may have captured something of relevance in relation to any of the below incidents, further information such as dates and times can be provided.
 
Burglary
 Incidents reported relating to RESIDENTIAL property:
 
ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Tow
  • Grange Road – Entry gained via insecure front door.  Bedroom entered and handbag and jewellery box searched.  Cash, bank cards and gold bangle taken.
  • Whitby
  • Sycamore Drive – Unknown male disturbed in porch area.  When confronted stated he ‘had the wrong house’.  Later discovered that a handbag had been taken from the address. – Male has since been arrested and suspected of being involved in a number of other incidents within the Ellesmere Port & Neston area.
  • Rossmore
  • Jacks Woods Avenue – Glass panel to the side of door smashed with a brick.  Untidy search within the property and TV and jewellery taken. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Little Neston and Burton
  • West Vale – Rear patio doors smashed to gain entry.  Wooden church pew has been moved and placed against the front door to make entry into the property difficult. Large bedroom window opened, possibly in case offender/s were disturbed.  Untidy search made of all bedrooms.  Not known what has been taken at this time.
  • Sutton
  • Randle Meadow – Rear patio doors smashed to gain entry into the property. Untidy search made within but nothing appears to have been taken. 
Incidents reported relating to BUSINESS premises:
 
ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Coronation Road – Unoccupied building at end of road with the junction of McGarva Way has numerous windows smashed.  Building entered and items within strewn around.  Gate to premises has also been kicked off its hinges.
  • Whitby Road – 2 male offenders wearing balaclavas gain access to rear yard area of ‘Light of India’ restaurant by climbing over boundary fence.  Then using bodily force an attempt is made to gain access through rear door. – 2 males arrested. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • St. Pauls
  • Red Lion Lane – During the overnight period unknown offender/s have approached the nursery with the grounds of ‘Rossmore Primary School’.  An attempt has then been made to force the hinge on the front door.  No entry gained. 
Incidents reported relating to OUTBUILDINGS/GARDENS:
 
ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Thornton Road – 2 locks smashed off door to gain access into garage.  Hilty breaker and Bosche plunge saw taken.  Unsure at this time if anything else has also been taken. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Little Neston and Burton
  • Station Close – Unknown implement used in an attempt to jemmy open garage door, causing damage to the door frame and ground bolt.  No entry gained.
  • St. Pauls
  • Clayhill Green – Rear garden entered and entry gained into garden shed.  Various power tools taken.
  • Sutton
  • Sutton Way – Garage, within garage block has padlock cut off by unknown means and TV, fishing tackle and wallpaper steamer taken from within.
  • Grange
  • Belgrave Drive – Detached garage and shed have both entered having doors forced open.  Ladies Raleigh bike and Carrera bike taken. 
Criminal Damage
Incidents reported relating to criminal damage, with the exclusion of damage to vehicles:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Stokesay Court – Communal area of flats entered and door to property damaged by unknown means.
  • Cromwell Road – Front door to property damaged by unknown means.
  • Exeter Road – Garden pots damaged by brick thrown by group of youths.
  • West Road – Brick thrown through front window.
  • Whitby Road – Gate at rear of ‘Light of India’ restaurant damaged.
  • Thornton Road – Youths on building site having caused damage to a lock on one of the gated areas.
  • Highfield Road – Wheelie bin set alight.
  • Warwick Court – Beer bottle thrown at ground floor flat bedroom window causing the outer glass pane to smash.
  • Whitby
  • Underwood Drive – Window smashed by stones.
  • Rossmore
  • St. John Nicholas Crescent – Bathroom window smashed. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Neston
  • Shakespeare Road – Brick thrown through living room window by 2 males. – Named offenders.
  • Ringway – Outer pane of glass in rear door smashed.
  • Parkgate
  • Brooklands Road – Outside classroom at ‘Parkgate Primary School’ damaged with tree being pulled up.
  • Netherpool
  • Overpool Road – Unknown teenage female witnessed smashing the bus stop window.
  • Marshall Drive – Number of windows smashed in new build flats.
Theft
Incidents reported relating to theft, with the exclusion of shop lifting & vehicle theft:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Whitby Road – 2 males have been on the roof of the flat above ‘White Heather’ estates agents.  As well as causing damage to the roof a quantity of lead has also been removed.
  • Coliseum Way – Gaming machines at ‘Tenpin’ broken into and cash removed from within during the hours of business.
  • Strawberry
  • Two Acre Grove – At some time during the past 2 weeks a caravan, on a residential driveway has been entered and a gas fire has been removed and taken, causing damage in the process. 
  • Archers Way – 4 tyres taken by males in a white flatbed van with a cage who had knocked at the address earlier asking if they had any scrap metal. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Parkgate
  • Leighton Road – Set of ladders, chained up at rear of premises taken.
  • Netherpool
  • Overpool Road – Pink and purple Apollo Rider, left insecure outside ‘The Hospice of the Good Shepherd’ taken by unknown offender.
  • Sutton
  • Sutton Way – Black and blue Boardman bike, taken after being left insecure outside property.
  • Sutton Way – Secure green Carrera Hellcat bike taken from outside ‘West Cheshire College’ after the lock was cut off.
Vehicle Crime
Incidents reported relating to theft / attempt THEFT FROM motor vehicles:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Raby Court – Insecure Hyundai I20 entered and purse taken from within.  Purse later found discarded having had cash removed.  
  • Whitby
  • Thamesdale – Secure Ford Transit entered by unknown means and various power tools have been taken from within.
  • Rossmore
  • Elm Street – Entry gained into business unit after lock removed from gates.  Lock on rear door to Citroen Relay forced open to gain entry. A number of power tools are removed and placed into a dark coloured hatch back vehicle that was being used by the offenders before they have driven off onto Merseyton Road. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST
  • Willaston and Thornton
  • Oak Road – Ford transit Custom has both the front and rear registration plates, displaying FL65 PKA taken. – Plates were then displayed on a dark blue Volvo which obtained fuel from the ‘Shell’ service station on Whitby Road before making off without payment.
  • North Road – On separate overnight occasions within the time frame of this bulletin trailers, parked within ‘Pioneer Business Park’ have had entry forced by breaking the seals on the back doors.
    • 1st incident reports stock being removed from within, but no details of what the stock was. 
    • 2nd incident reports a box of chocolate bars being taken.
  • Sutton
  • Robin Croft – Van, no further details at this time, broken into ad hedge trimmer, chainsaw and strimmer taken. 
Incidents reported relating to DAMAGE TO motor vehicles:
 
ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Denbigh Court – Vauxhall Corsa has nearside headlight smashed and wing mirror knocked off.  Blood then smeared onto windows. – Named suspect.
  • Holly Road – Ford Focus, parked on residential street has plastic casing knocked off the wing mirror.
  • St. Andrews Road – Citroen C3, parked at roadside has rear smashed.
  • Rugby Road – Renault Kadjar, parked outside house has brick thrown through rear window.
  • Whitby
  • Woodland Road – Passenger wing mirror knocked off vehicle parked at roadside. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Little Neston and Burton
  • Lees Lane – Suzuki Swift, parked on residential driveway has brick thrown at rear window causing it to smash.
  • Parkgate Road – Peugeot Partner van has drivers side window smashed during overnight period whilst parked at ‘Two Mills’.
  • Neston
  • Jonson Road – Skoda Fabia, private hire taxi, whilst waiting for fare has rear windscreen smashed.
  • Netherpool
  • Straker Avenue – Honda Jazz has front passenger tyre slashed by unknown means.
  • Bailey Avenue – Toyota Yaris found with rear tyre punctured.  Upon being repaired at garage informed that the tyre had been slashed with a knife or similar sharp implement.
  • Sutton
  • Overpool Road – Ford Fiesta has rear passenger smashed.
