Scam Alert re Faulty Internet

Police have received reports from residents in the Neston area of phone calls thought to be part of a scam .

A pre-recorded message will warn you that your broadband and phone line will be disconnected , suggesting that you then follow their instructions .
Police advise that you should hang up immediately if you receive such a call , do not carry out any of the instructions and wait for around five minutes before using your phone in order to ensure the line has cleared .

If you think you have been a victim of fraud or received such a call , please contact Action Fraud , either by phone 0300 123 2040 or online www.actionfraud.police.uk

Please pass on this information to any elderly or vulnerable neighbours and friends to make them aware .
