Ellesmere Port & Neston Police News Bulletin
12th to 21st July 2019
  
If you have any CCTV, dash cam footage, etc., that you think may have captured something of relevance in relation to any of the below incidents, further information such as dates and times can be provided.
 
Burglary
Incidents reported relating to RESIDENTIAL property:
 
ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Holly Road – Entry gained into property via insecure front door and TV taken from living room.
  • Rossmore
  • Joseph Groom Towers – Damage found to door of flat in what appears to have been an unsuccessful attempt to gain entry into the property. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • St. Pauls
  • Fulwood Mews – Entry gained into property by unknown means and a set of keys taken.
  • Spring Avenue – Entry gained into property via an insecure door.  Male confronted by occupant on landing and stated he was looking a named female at address before stating he must have the wrong address and leaving.
  • Sutton
  • Sutton Way – Window in door removed and placed on ground inside front door and lock damaged where it appears to have been kicked in.  Unknown at this time if anything been taken. 
Incidents reported relating to OUTBUILDINGS/GARDENS:
 
ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Lancaster Gardens – Locks to garage found with marks consistent to an attempt to gain entry.  No entry gained.
  • Whitby
  • During the overnight period of Thursday 11th into Friday 12th July 3 separate incidents reported which may be offender linked.
    • Underwood Drive – Garage door attacked with an unknown item which has caused the door to break but no entry has been gained.
    • Woodland Road – Access gained to garden and door removed from shed.  Blue mountain bike taken from the shed.  A bike not belonging to the home owner was left at the address.
    • Fern Road – Garage door forced open causing damage to the door.  Search made within the garage and silver Marin Larkspur City bike taken, leaving a blue mountain bike in its place. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Little Neston and Burton
  • Old Hall Lane – Large barn entered at some point over past 5 week. Chain saw, leaf blower and strimmer taken.
Criminal Damage
Incidents reported relating to criminal damage, with the exclusion of damage to vehicles:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Stokesay Court – Wheelie bin set alight.
  • Victoria Road – Recycling box, in rear garden set alight by unknown person.
  • Marlborough Road – Outer pane of double glazed window smashed, possibly by a pellet as small hole found at centre of crack.
  • Oldfield Road – Garden entered and olive tree and garden bench damaged with an unknown implement picked up from within the garden.- Named suspects.
  • Whitby
  • Elm Grove – Damage to newly fitted notice board for park area.  Perspex glass from smashed.
  • Rossmore
  • Station Road – 2 unknown males drive to rear of ‘Home Bargain’ on Westminster Retail Park and take 2 blue tote boxes, which belong to the store, before driving off.
Theft
Incidents reported relating to theft, with the exclusion of shop lifting & vehicle theft:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Shellway Road – Sign from private piece of land removed after access gained to the area by off road bikes.
  • Whitby
  • Chester Road – 2 separate properties linked by occurrence in which a male was arrested.
    • Inflatable hot tub emptied and taken along with pump from garden.
    • Wheelie bin taken from address and used to carry spa.
  • Rossmore
  • Station Road – 2 unknown males drive to rear of ‘Home Bargain’ on Westminster Retail Park and take 2 blue tote boxes, which belong to the store, before driving off. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Little Neston and Burton
  • Meadow Close – Plant pot taken from front garden.
  • Ledsham and Manor
  • Chester Road – Flat roof of property accessed and lead removed.
  • Sutton
  • Sutton Way – Whilst loading vehicle small black suitcase taken.
Vehicle Crime
Incidents reported relating to theft / attempt THEFT OF motor vehicles:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Rossmore
  • Hallwood Walk – Honda CBF 125, FV64 XEN, secured to lamp post with security chain removed with cutting equipment. – Recovered in Birkenhead, Merseyside after being involved in a collision with another vehicle.  
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Ledsham and Manor
  • Berwick Road West – Silver Vauxhall SXI, SG57 XGT taken from car park of ‘The Quality Hotel’ after keys removed from a coat in an insecure store room. – Vehicle recovered in Birkenhead.
  • Grange
  • Hartley Place – Red Yamaha XP 500 scooter, YB02 CNO, secured and under a cover outside property taken after lock removed. 
Incidents reported relating to theft / attempt THEFT FROM motor vehicles:

ELLESMERE PORT EAST 
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Cricceth Court – Front and rear registration plates, showing YR07 LHX taken from a Renault Clio parked at roadside.
  • Whitby
  • Stanney Lane – White Yamaha YP 400, DA64 NJE taken from outside the café at Whitby Park.
  • Rossmore
  • Leven Walk – Jaguar X-Type has both front and rear registration plates, showing NL57 EHM taken. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Little Neston and Burton
  • Pipers Lane – Entry gained onto gated yard of farm and New Holland Tractor entered by unknown means. Antenna and screen equipment from within the tractor taken.
  • Parkgate
  • Boathouse Lane – Vauxhall Viva, parked on car park of car dealership has registration plates, showing WU17 UAG taken.
  • Ledsham and Manor
  • Cambrian Close – Honda CRV has front registration plate, showing ANG 133E taken.
  • Cleveland Drive – Insecure For Focus entered a few weeks ago and drinks and power bank taken.
  • Sutton
  • Overpool Road – Seat Ibiza has luggage strapping removed from roof rack. 
  • Grange
  • Princes Road – Whist delivering to ‘Bargain Booze’ unknown offender has climbed into delivery vehicle through rear doors, which were insecure and taken 2 bin bags containing cigarettes. 
Incidents reported relating to DAMAGE TO motor vehicles:
 
ELLESMERE PORT EAST
 
  • Whitby
  • The Green – VW Caddy damaged after altercation – Named suspect.
  • Rossmore
  • Joseph Groom Towers – Vauxhall Astra, parked within car park of tower has roof scratched by piece of flooring tiles thrown out of window by drunken resident.- Male arrested. 
ELLESMERE PORT WEST 
  • Willaston and Thornton
  • Hooton Green – Vauxhall Corsa, on car park of ‘The Chimneys Hotel’ for a number of weeks has brick thrown through rear passenger window.
  • Hooton Road – Whilst parked by ‘Hooton Railway Station’ BMW has sun roof smashed by brick thrown over building.
  • St. Pauls
  • Chester Road – Porsche Cayman, Parked in car park of ‘Little Sutton Library’ scratched along the bottom of the door. - Repeat victim.
