Runcorn Local Policing Unit, Norton North

July 2019

Crime update –

On the 14th July at approx. 21:00hrs we received a call stating that a deliberate fire had been lit in the porch area of an address on Weymouth Close. CID dealing.

On the 16th July at approx. 15:30hrs we received a report of a theft of bicycle from a driveway on Delphield.

On the 23rd July at approx. 05:00hrs we received a call for theft of a Cube mountain bike from the Dover Close area of Murdishaw.

Suspicious activity –

We have received a number of report about youths gathering in Windmill Hill Wood in between Norton and Phoenix Park setting fires and using a BB gun. The PCSO for Windmill Hill has been patrolling the area and has the names of 2 youths involved who may be in possession of a BB gun, for ongoing enquiries.

On the 6th July at approx. 18:00hrs we received a report from Preston Brook Marina stating that a motorized dingy had entered the site in the early hours of the morning but appeared to make of when spooked by residents.

On the 21st July at approx. 20:00hrs we received reports of an abandoned pushbike in the Littlebourne area described as a Carrera Vengeance mountain bike.


On the 8th July at approx. 14:00hrs we received a report from a resident of Falmouth Place stating they were having issues with local youths being verbally abusive. 2 males involved have been identified and advised.

On the 23rd July at approx. 20:00hrs we received a call regarding youths taking legal highs and alcohol on the park near to Stockham Ski Slopes, patrols attended and a number of youths made off.

On the 31st July at approx. 19:00hrs we received a report of a dog on dog bite incident on the field between Littlebourne and Gorsewood Road.

Roads Policing –

Issues with off-road bikes still ongoing throughout Norton North, a meeting is being held on Thursday 8th August 1700-1800 at Murdishaw Community Centre where a police Sergeant and local councilors will be in attendance to discuss Op Scrambler aswell as any other policing issues for the area.

Speed enforcement has taken place throughout the month on Tower Lane and Norton Station Road… quite a few activations over the month and a general show of support from the local residents in relation to the enforcement.

On the 19th of July at approx. 21:00hrs we received a report that a vehicle had left the road on Barnfield Avenue and collided with a tree, thankfully nobody was seriously injured.

Schools –

On Wednesday 10th July I attended St Martins Primary school for a Roles of the police talk to the reception class. (schools are now closed for the summer)

Thursday 8th August 2019 @ 1700-1800 (OP Scrambler meeting with Runcorn Beat Sgt and council reps)
