News Bulletin
Runcorn Local Policing Unit, Halton Lea

July 2019
Anti-Social Behaviour/ Criminal Damage
• There has been a decrease in the number of reported Off Road Bikes around Halton Lea. This may be due to the garages working with the Police to ask riders to take their helmets off while fueling the bikes. Also Onward Housing and Riverside have erected new fences around the area. That said we are still gathering intelligence in relation to the riders of these dangerous bikes and where they are being kept. If you have any information in relation to this, please call 101, don’t leave it to someone else.

• The month of July saw an increase in ASB around Halton Lodge. A few addresses were targeted and a back gate was totally smashed in. Diggers left on site near the new park were interfered with and fences around the park were pulled down.
• The Shopping City are running activities tom help ease the ASB around Halton Lea.

• Due to intelligence gathering, drug warrants continue in the area. Any information can be called in anonymously on Crime Stoppers or come and speak to me in the weekly surgery listed below.
• Laughing gas canisters have been found around Allendale.

Suspicious Activity
• Begging is still happening around Lidl, Asda and the Trident retail park. Please call 101 if you are asked for money, sometimes they are very intimidating. We can then sign post these people for help if needed.
• A grey transit type van with 2 young males have been knocking on addresses around Hallwood Park. They said they were from the electric company but vigilant occupant turned them away and informed police.

Roads Policing
Tru-Cam enforcement has been conducted on Palacefields Avenue and over 100 people were exceeding the speed limit of 20 MPH. *enforcement will continue*.

We are keen over the coming months to try and advertise the introduction of Neighbourhood Watch schemes in Norton North via the Cheshire Alert web page. If any members of Cheshire Alert would like to set-up and become a coordinator of a watch scheme then we as the police will offer support and advice in any way we can, my e-mail is attached at the bottom of this newsletter and I look forward to hearing from anyone who wishes to set-up a scheme that we can get involved with.
