Ellesmere Port & Neston Police News Bulletin
5 to 11 October 2019
If you have any CCTV, dash cam footage, etc., that you think may have captured something of relevance in relation to any of the below incidents, further information such as dates and times can be provided.
Incidents reported relating to BUSINESS premises:
  • Rossmore
  • Rossmore Road East – Offenders throw brick through lower pane of glass in door to gain entry.  Inner door to officer area forced open and a tidy search is made.  Petty cash taken. 
  • Netherpool
  • Chester Road – Rear window at property smashed to gain entry. Bottle of whisky taken which was found discarded nearby. 
Incidents reported relating to OUTBUILDINGS/GARDENS:
  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Lancaster Gardens – Padlock on garage tampered with.  No entry gained. 
  • Parkgate
  • Leighton Road – Unknown object used to force shutter doors on garage to gain entry.  Large amount of tools taken.
Criminal Damage
Incidents reported relating to criminal damage, with the exclusion of damage to vehicles:

  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Priestfield Road – Brick thrown through window.
  • Princes Road – Caravan at traveller’s encampment in car park has bricks thrown by 2 youths on bikes smashing window.
  • Edinburgh Court – Brick thrown through top floor flat window.
  • Bunbury Green – Wheelie bin set alight on the field.
  • Cambridge Road – Outer pane of glass in hall window of first floor apartment smashed.
  • Arundel Court – Window smashed by group of youths throwing stones.
  • Warwick Court – Front window cracked after being hit by an unknown object.
  • Broadside Avenue – Fencing near to park area ripped down and set alight by group of youths.
  • Whitby
  • Stanney Lane – Caravan at traveller’s encampment on ‘Whitby Park’ has rock thrown through windows. – 3 males arrested.
  • Rossmore
  • New Grosvenor Road – Window in front door to ‘Poole Centre’ found with small hole in it, possibly by a pellet or similar. 
  • Neston
  • Brook Street – Padlock cut off gate at rear of ‘Neston Dry Cleaners’ and gate thrown into rear yard.
  • Netherpool
  • Atlas Way – Brick thrown through lounge window.
  • St. Pauls
  • Mill Lane – Nissan Quasqai, reported stolen from Wallasey, Merseyside on 28 September found on fire.
  • Sutton
  • Sutton Way – Front window smashed and lock damaged.  Projector taken.
Incidents reported relating to theft, with the exclusion of shop lifting & vehicle theft:

  • Ellesmere Port Town
  • Coliseum Way – Whilst briefly stepping out of changing room at ‘Debenhams’ to show partner clothes wallet taken.
  • McGarva Way – Trek bike in Orange and black, left insecure in front garden of residential address taken.
Vehicle Crime
Incidents reported relating to theft / attempt THEFT FROM motor vehicles:

  • Whitby
  • Kintyre Close – Suzuki Celerio has both the front and rear registration plates, showing PG66 ZSY taken. 
Incidents reported relating to DAMAGE TO motor vehicles:
  • Willaston and Thornton
  • Meadow Lane – Van (no further details) accessed by unknown means and large quantity of both hand and power tools taken from within.
  • St. Pauls
  • Parklands – 2 vehicles damaged by group involved in a violent disorder.
    • Vauxhall Adam, parked at roadside, has front and rear windscreen smashed during a disorder in road.
    • Vauxhall Zafira has driver’s window smashed.
  • Grange
  • Sutton Way – Nissan Qashqui has windscreen smashed. – 2 males seen running away. 
Other incidents of note…

  • Strawberry
  • Stolen Motorcycle - recovered hidden in bushes next to the lay-by on Capenhurst Lane near to its junction with Wakefield Road – BMW reported as having been stolen in April from Manchester. 
  • St. Pauls
  • Attempt robbery - At 8.35pm on 9 October a man entered the post office on Chester Road with a knife and demanded staff open the safe.  He tried to get behind the counter but fled when the panic alarm went off. - Male only described as wearing dark clothing.
  • Sutton
  • Mill Lane – Nissan Qashqai, set alight by unknown offenders on Mill Lane.  2 males seen running away from the area near to its time of ignition.  Vehicle believed to be one stolen from Wallasey, Merseyside on 29th September.
