November 2019

Crime update –

On 25/11/19 we received a report of burglary other than in a dwelling whereby a garage adjoined to a house was entered and a Honda motorcycle was stolen. Burglary team and CSI attended and CCTV was collected from the property.

On 27/11/19 we executed a number of search warrants in the Murdishaw area leading to drugs and a firearm seizures. 5 people were arrested on the day. CCTV enquiries, visible foot patrol and leaflet drops were completed in the area to re-assure the public.

Suspicious activity –

On 21/11/19 at 11pm we received a call regarding a suspicious black vehicle driving slowly around the area. The caller stated there was a group of males on board the vehicle and that there had been a spate of people’s car doors being tried prior to reporting.


Early November we had some sporadic ASB incidents involving fireworks /eggs etc mainly around the Murdishaw area. This was expected due to the time of year.

On 25/11/19 we received a report of ASB/Criminal damage at Stockham Lodge, Stockham Lane. CCTV shows a group of youths causing damage to the fencing and windows at the centre which is currently being redeveloped. CCTV footage has been seized and we are hoping to identify the youths involved.

Roads Policing –

Tru-Cam speed enforcement has taken place on Norton Station Road and Tower Lane throughout November. *Complaints have recently come in with regards to Windmill Hill Avenue East, this road does have an enforcement code and will be enforced in rotation alongside Tower Lane and Norton Station Road.*

On 20/11/19 at around 10am we had a report of a road traffic collision on Tower Lane involving a bus and a car.

Schools/young people –

On Wednesday 27th November I attended at St Martin’s primary school to deliver a ‘drug awareness’ talk to the year 6 pupils.
