Christmas Checklist

Alert message sent 16/12/2020 17:52:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

High Streets are much busier at this time of the year, here are a few more crime prevention tips to help keep you safe during your Christmas shopping period
- Be aware of very crowded places, these are ideal for pickpockets and thieves.
- Make sure handbags are hard to access
- When stopping for refreshments or a break, don't hang your bag on the back of your chair. Instead, put it on the floor in front of you, and consider putting the chair leg over the strap
- Carry valuables such as your wallets in your front trouser pocket. Never carry it in your rear pocket or outer jacket pocket
- When entering your cards PIN always cover the keypad with your other hand and be aware of who’s around you
- Consider making expensive purchases last so you can head straight home with them
- Think about taking your own large shopping bags so you can consolidate all little bags together and reduce the risk of dropping one or having one stolen
Look out for each other, and stay vigilant!
