Police update for February

Alert message sent 07/03/2021 13:39:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Hello,

I hope everyone is safe and well,

This is just a simple update for the month of February.

There has been a couple of shed brake ins in Penketh where 2 expensive bikes were taken, please ensure that all bikes are locked and secure especially with a credited D-Lock.
When lockdown measures are eased i will be looking to start holding bike marking events in partnership with Penketh & Cuerdley Residents Association (RA) who have managed to secure funding to purchase a number of Bikeregister tags. This event will be advertised through the Penketh & Cuerdley Police Facebook and Twitter page, the RA social media page also i will send out dates and links through Cheshire alert.

A number of residents in the area are falling victim to Email and telephone scams losing hundreds if not thousands of pounds, if anyone asks you to move money, pay for fines or states you have missed payments etc hang up and call back on a trusted number to get the matter clarified. Please share this advice with neighbours, friends and relatives. More information regarding scams can be found here www.actionfraud.police.uk

Please remember to stay safe, wear a mask and stay alert,

A quick reminder that all non urgent reports to the police can be reported through the Internet at www.cheshire.police.uk as well as 101 but we are receiving a large amount of calls through the 101 system so please bear with us and if you feel like the situation could get heated or violent very soon or Is someone in immediate danger?  please call 999.

Thanks
