Update of Recent incidents

Alert message sent 12/01/2022 10:17:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

Good Morning,

I hope you're well.

I just wanted to update you on recent incidents that have happened that we fear may be on the rise!

We have started to see an increase in Scams, especially towards older more vulnerable individuals.
The most recent Scam was a phone call, pretending to be a Scam prevention team. They tell you not to mention it to the bank, and give you lines to re-hearse, in this case, they had already set up another bank account, and manipulated the individual into transferring a large sum of money.

Please do not allow yourself or someone you know become a victim of a Scam, If they're asking you to keep it a secret from your bank, you can be sure that it isn't legitimate.

We have some Scam awareness leaflets if you would like one, please either message on here or the Hurdsfield police Facebook page and I will drop one off.

Also in Cheshire this morning we have had a vehicle stolen, as the owner had left it running to defrost it. I know its a pain having to sit and wait for your car to defrost but it isn't worth the risk to leave it! Opportunist thieves wouldn't think twice about taking it.

I have been holding our Weekly Surgery online recently as I am covering for your local PCSO, there is one today 10-11, and the next one will be held on Tuesday 18th 1800-1900hrs, Just message on the Facebook page with any questions or concerns.

Finally we have now been given an enforcement code to be able to do speed enforcement on Hulley Road, previously we couldn't enforce it with the handheld device, so please drive accordingly!

Kind Regards
PCSO Burdock 23414
