Consultation on new regeneration plans for Chester Northgate

Cheshire West and Chester Council is committed to delivering a comprehensive redevelopment in Chester City Centre. New plans for the major regeneration of Chester’s Northgate shopping area are being launched for public consultation on 3 December 2015 and local residents, businesses community groups and city centre visitors are being encouraged to get involved and have their say.

The proposals for the Chester Northgate scheme will include:
  • A department store and a wide range of new shops
  • A multi-screen cinema
  • Cafés, bars and restaurants
  • A new and improved market hall
  • A relocated and improved hotel with conference facilities
  • Parking for around 900 cars
  • New bus stops on St Martin’s Way
  • Over 1,000 new jobs
